Review:

As you may well know, I love a good book stuffed with mythology. As the second book in the Wildefire trilogy, this doesn't disappoint. This series pulls from different mythological lore and melds it together in one awesome storyline. Ashline returns as the main character and she is her usual strong and determined self. After everything that happened in California, Ashline only wants to protect her friends from the terrible things that seems to happen around her. Tragedy seems to follow Ashline wherever she goes and Miami is no exception. We see some old faces and some new ones and there is the usual romantic edge as well as betrayals to be had. I really loved that the characters aren't predictable in the slightest, they always do the unexpected. This novel is exceptionally action-packed without a dull moment to spare. There are a lot of new revelations and interesting unexpected twists. I definitely recommend this novel but only after reading Wildefire.

Review:
I LOVE Peter Pan so I've always been interested in seeing retellings of the classic tale. This story is told from Tinkerbell's point of view and it is made known that the Neverland in this book is a different place from what we're used to. This Neverland is a darker place where everything is steeped in both reality and the supernatural at the same time. The characters in this novel are more complex and through Tinkerbell's eyes we can see all the characters individual characteristics and come to understand them more. Tiger Lily is the main focus and we quickly see that she is a strong yet lonely person. I loved seeing Tiger Lily's strength of character and physicality despite the way she was treated by others in her tribe. Peter Pan is of a darker and wild nature but he still has his vulnerable side. The relationship between Tiger Lily and Peter Pan is one of passion and also full of heartbreak. Wendy is seen less as a likable character but its interesting to see the difference between her effect on Peter and Tiger Lily's. This is a thoroughly enjoyable novel that I would recommend for those who are interested in seeing a different perspective on Peter Pan and Neverland as a whole.

Review:

This novel is one of those that you just can't put down because it just keeps getting better and you want to know what will happen next. As the second book in the series, it definitely improved story-wise. I feel like Katy grew up a lot since the last book, despite the fact that her emotions were all over the place. Sometimes I found myself getting annoyed because Katy is so amazingly gullible and tends to make bad decisions. However, Katy has to deal with way more developments this time around so you see a lot of changes in her as she handles it. Katy and Daemon still haven't gotten it together and their relationship is both entertaining and hot! New characters are introduced that have major impacts on the story and the original character's lives. There are a lot of new things that you discover about the Luxen and their mysterious powers and plenty of twists that keep everything fresh and amazing. The last few chapters of the book were the best action-wise and with new revelations that leaves you excited and hungry for more. I'm definitely excited to read the next novel especially with where this one left off. I recommend you read this only after reading the first in the series, Obsidian.
