New York Comic-Con 2016

New York Comic-Con this year took place from Thursday, October 6th to Sunday, October 9th. Its always a big event in New York and this year was no exception. This year Comic-Con had to expand, so I found myself hopping from Jacob Javitz Center to the Hammerstein Ballroom just to see everything they had to offer! There is always something exciting going on whether it is the panels, the activities, or just getting to see amazing cosplay! Take a look at some of the photographs we captured at Comic-Con and the moments below.

Welcome to New York Comic-Con 2016!
Kevin Smith and the gang from Comic Book Men. These guys are absolutely hilarious. One of the best panels!

They've made the 90s television show into a modern movie with some of the original cast members!

The cast of the Emmy-winning television show Archer!

Power Rangers Movie Teaser Trailer (2017)

I grew up like all 90s kids watching the Power Rangers on television. While this movie looks nothing like the Power Rangers of old, it definitely is a new spin that caught my attention. Check out the newly released teaser trailer below!

SABAN’S POWER RANGERS follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove — and the world — is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.

Shadow Fall Review

368 pages

The asteroid hurtling toward the earth will kill billions.
The Emperor and his Gold Court will be safe in their space station, watching from the stars. The Silvers will be protected underground. But the Bronzes must fight it out at the Shadow Trials for the few remaining spots left on the space station.
When an enigmatic benefactor hands Maia Graystone a spot in the Trials, she won’t just get a chance at salvation for her and her baby brother, Max: She gets to confront the mother who abandoned her in prison, the mad Emperor who murdered her father, and the Gold prince who once loved her. But it’s the dark bastard prince she’s partnered with that will make her question everything, including her own heart. With the asteroid racing closer every day, Maia must trust someone to survive.
The question is who?

Review (ARC):
This wasn't a bad book but it wasn't an exceptionally good one either. Think The Hunger Games or other similar dystopian novels except in space. The main character,  Maia, is a survivor and gets pulled into a game of survival to save her life and her brother's. There is a lot of action in this novel and even a bit of a love triangle. Caspian and Riser are polar opposites yet each have something that pulls Maia and it will be interesting to see who she ultimately ends up with. As the first in the series this novel is fairly enjoyable and anyone that enjoys dystopian fiction will enjoy this one.
